Poultry Processing Procedure

How the Poultry Process works…

Live birds are delivered to the Receiving Bay where they are offloaded onto bespoke unloading systems. The Receiving Bay forms the front end of an abattoir where the slaughtering process begins before heading through the Defeathering process which are built to production/processing specifications. Offal rooms are installed to process the excess and package heads and feet. During the Evisceration process, intestinal packs are removed (and processed through specific Giblet Handling equipment), recovery of the edible offal takes place, and birds are cleaned and cooled. Birds are then chilled with unique cooling facilities before heading to packing room where meat is kept free of the actual conveyor, promoting single deck contamination free conveyor system.
